West Linton is a picturesque conservation village in the Scottish Borders, just south of Edinburgh and surrounded by rolling countryside. With its traditional stone cottages, historic market square, and easy access to Pentland Hills Regional Park, it’s a place full of charm and character.

Our client’s home sits in one of West Linton’s quiet residential lanes, and they wanted to refresh both the staircase and living room with striking new wallpapers from the Little Greene collection. The bold designs added personality and warmth, while our careful installation ensured the patterns aligned perfectly—even across uneven walls and tricky stairwell angles.

Careful Pattern Work with a Designer Touch
The client chose two standout styles: Stag Toile in burgundy for the living room and Wild Chervil in blue for the staircase. Both papers feature bold, intricate patterns that required a high level of precision to install—and the results were well worth the effort.

Tackling Uneven Walls and Tight Spaces
The staircase posed the biggest challenge, with limited access and uneven wall surfaces. We carefully filled and sanded each section to create a smooth base, allowing the wallpaper to align perfectly—even at the tricky corners and along the stairwell’s height.

Living Room Feature Wall
In the living room, the wallpaper was applied to one feature wall, giving the space a lift without overwhelming it. Despite similar wall unevenness, we delivered a flawless finish that tied the room together beautifully.
