The Challenge
The client had been painting their room themselves but knew wallpapering was a different matter. They called us in for the professional touch. The chosen wallpaper — a bold Pagoda blue pattern — needed to complement existing blue tones in the room while making a real statement.
The wallpaper featured an offset match design and was a paste-the-wall type. Getting the pattern to align perfectly across every strip, without overstretching or misalignment, required precision and patience.
Our Approach
Surface Preparation
We prepared the walls thoroughly — filling any imperfections, sanding smooth, and ensuring the surface was clean and dry. All furniture was moved and protected before we started.
Precision Pattern Matching
With an offset match design, every strip needs to be carefully measured and positioned. Our team took time to match each drop precisely, ensuring the pattern flowed seamlessly across the wall. The paste-the-wall technique requires careful application — too much paste causes stretching, too little causes lifting.
Every strip was placed with care, checked for alignment, and smoothed into position. The workspace was kept clean throughout, with paste kept well away from the client’s carpet and furnishings.
The Result
The finished wall is striking. The bold Pagoda blue pattern creates a real focal point in the room, with seamless joins and perfect pattern alignment from edge to edge. The client was over the moon — and we were proud of the precision work that made it possible.
