Rosewell Feature Wall Wallpapering

Rosewell is a peaceful Midlothian village, just south of Edinburgh, surrounded by rolling countryside and close to Roslin Glen and the historic Rosslyn Chapel. Many of the homes here are traditional stone-built cottages and period houses full of charm—but often with walls that are less than perfectly straight.

Our client’s home was no exception. They wanted to create a striking feature wall that would both add style and disguise the uneven surfaces. With careful preparation, lining, and a steady hand, we were able to transform the space into a bold, elegant focal point that fits beautifully with the home’s character.

Laying the Groundwork
To create a smooth base, we carried out extensive filling and sanding, then applied a 2000-grade lining paper. This heavy-duty layer helped mask the wall’s flaws and provided a stable surface for the wallpaper, ensuring clean seams and pattern alignment.

Precision Wallpapering
The wallpaper chosen featured a delicate geometric pattern on thin, fragile paper. We took extra care throughout the installation to avoid tearing or stretching. Our team’s steady hand and attention to detail made all the difference.
