Shop Front Refresh – Millard Law, Edinburgh

Millard Law’s office is right on Leith Walk, just along from Pilrig Street and a short stroll to Leith’s Foot of the Walk. It’s a busy route connecting the city centre with Leith, lined with independent cafés, specialist shops, and long-standing local businesses. With the new tram stop at Balfour Street nearby, it’s an area that’s seen a fresh wave of investment and footfall.

The shop front is the first impression clients see, but the original grey paint had faded, cracked, and picked up some graffiti over time. We were brought in to restore the frontage to a clean, professional standard—using a tough, weather-resistant exterior paint that can stand up to Edinburgh’s traffic, weather, and the constant bustle of Leith Walk.

Surface Prep and Paint Choice
After filling and sanding the exterior to create a smooth base, we repainted in a matching grey to maintain consistency with the original design. For the finish, we used Zinsser Allcoat Exterior Gloss—a high-performance paint known for its durability and weather resistance.

Why Zinsser Allcoat?
This paint is ideal for mixed materials like wood, metal, masonry, and plastic. It’s quick drying (touch dry in 30 minutes), recoatable in just one hour, and includes mould- and fungal-resistant properties for long-term protection. It also stands up well to Scotland’s unpredictable weather—resisting cracking, peeling, and fading.
