Project Showcase: Victorian House Living Room Redecoration

We recently redecorated the living room of a beautiful Victorian home in Edinburgh. The client had just moved in and wanted to restore the character of the space while giving it a bold, modern feel.

Preserving Period Features
The room featured original plasterwork, including a decorative cornice and ceiling rose. We took extra care in preparing and spray painting these details to highlight their craftsmanship while keeping their classic look intact.

Flawless Wall Finish
We thoroughly filled, sanded, and lined the walls to create a smooth, clean surface—essential for making a bold colour shine. The client chose a vibrant orange shade that really stands out against the new wooden floor.

Protecting the Floors
To keep the new flooring safe, we used heavy-duty plastic core sheeting throughout the project. It protected the surface from any paint or accidental knocks, so everything stayed pristine.

Refreshed Woodwork
All woodwork in the room was restored with care—filled, sanded, undercoated, and finished in a classic white satin. It gave the space a crisp, polished feel and tied the whole room together.

The client was thrilled with the final result. The room now has the warmth and individuality they were after—mixing period charm with vibrant energy.
