Project Showcase: Tailor-Made MDF Bookshelf

Our client in Lennox Street, Edinburgh, who previously entrusted us with decorating their entire property, approached us with a new request. They asked us to create a tailor-made MDF bookshelf for their living room. A.J. Milne Bespoke Carpentry in Edinburgh expertly crafted the bookshelf, showcasing meticulous attention to detail and craftsmanship.

Preparation and Execution

• Surface Preparation: We meticulously prepared the surface by filling any holes and gaps, priming all the bare MDF, and delicately sanding the surface using a fine abrasive.
• Clean Environment Commitment: Our dedication to a clean environment was evident as we employed an industrial extractor to minimize the dispersion of any dust particles, ensuring a pristine finish for the bookshelf.
• Priming and Painting: The bookshelf was primed with Tikkurila Otex Adhesion Primer, lightly sanded again, and then painted with Tikkurila Everal Aqua Matt [10]. The chosen paint color was meticulously matched with the walls, Farrow & Ball Au Lait, to seamlessly blend the furniture into the living space.

Result

The transformation was remarkable, with the newly crafted MDF bookshelf harmonizing seamlessly with the wall, creating a cohesive and aesthetically pleasing living room space.
