Master Bedroom Redecoration in Church Hill, Edinburgh
Bedroom redecoration in a period Edinburgh flat, with Wallrock Fibreliner and a calmer colour palette.
The Challenge
This Church Hill bedroom had previously been decorated in very strong colours, including a deep pink feature wall. Existing wallpaper also needed to be removed, chased channels required filling, and the walls needed careful preparation before the final colour could be applied.
Our Approach
- Protected floors and surrounding areas before stripping the existing wallpaper.
- Repaired walls, filled chased channels and sanded cracks and imperfections.
- Lined the walls with Wallrock Fibreliner to create a smoother and more uniform surface.
- Prepared the ceiling and ornate cornice, then finished both in white matt emulsion.
- Painted the walls in Little Greene Aquamarine Mid, colour matched in Johnstone’s Trade Durable Matt, with woodwork prepared and finished cleanly.
The Result
The room now feels calmer, lighter and more refined. The softer Aquamarine Mid shade gives the bedroom a fresh backdrop, while the white woodwork and cornicing keep the period features prominent without the previous colour scheme dominating the space.
