Luxury Wallpapering Project in Bonaly, Edinburgh

The Challenge

The homeowner wanted high-end wallpaper introduced in two different ways: a dramatic downstairs cloakroom and a softer botanical feature wall in the guest bedroom. Both spaces needed careful preparation and accurate pattern matching so the finished rooms felt considered rather than overpowered.

Luxury wallpapers leave little room for error. The cloakroom also included a window recess, corners and sanitary fittings, so the layout, trimming and alignment all had to be planned before hanging.

Our Approach

1. Cleaned and prepared the walls before installation.
2. Removed a curtain holder board in the cloakroom, then repaired the wall.
3. Filled and sanded minor cracks and imperfections to create a smooth base.
4. Installed the customer-supplied tropical wallpaper using a paste-the-wall method and the specified offset pattern match.
5. Trimmed neatly around the window opening, internal corners and sanitary fittings.
6. Installed the customer-supplied botanical wallpaper in the guest bedroom, aligning the repeating leaf pattern for a clean feature wall.
7. Protected the property throughout and kept the work area clean and tidy.

The Result

The downstairs cloakroom is now a statement space, with colourful tropical wallpaper sitting cleanly alongside the white tiling and modern fittings. In the guest bedroom, the botanical accent wall adds texture, warmth and a more sophisticated feel without overwhelming the room.

Across both spaces, careful surface preparation and meticulous pattern alignment produced the seamless high-end finish the project needed.
