Living Room Wall Panelling & Painting Near Inch Park
Bespoke decorative wall panelling and a deep colour-drenched paint finish for a period living room near Inch Park, Edinburgh.
The Challenge
The panel layout needed to feel balanced across walls interrupted by a radiator, doorway, sockets and built-in shelving. The deep paint colour also made accurate joints, filled fixing points and clean caulk lines especially important to the final finish.
Our Approach
- Prepared the wall surfaces and set out the panel proportions around the room.
- Cut and installed decorative pine mouldings, aligning each panel with the existing features.
- Filled, sanded and caulked joints, fixing holes and gaps for a continuous finish.
- Applied a dark undercoat before two coats of the selected matt wall colour.
- Painted the radiator to match so the panelling remained the principal architectural detail.
The Result
The completed panelling adds rhythm and architectural depth to the living room, while the consistent dark finish ties the mouldings, walls and radiator together. White cornicing and woodwork frame the room cleanly and retain its period character.
