Living Room and Built-In Cupboard Painting in Edinburgh
A warm Edinburgh living room refresh, with newly built cupboards and shelving prepared, primed and painted for a smooth finished look.
The Challenge
The living room paintwork was tired, and the newly built cupboards and shelving were still bare. The aim was to bring the room together so the storage looked like a finished, intentional part of the space rather than a recent addition.
Our Approach
- Protected the flooring and surrounding areas before starting preparation.
- Cleaned and prepared the walls, then raked out, filled and sanded minor cracks and holes.
- Treated water staining with Zinsser BIN sealer/primer before applying emulsion to the prepared walls.
- Removed the cupboard doors, prepared and primed the bare cupboard and shelving surfaces.
- Painted the cupboards, doors, shelving and cabinet top, then refitted the doors and installed the client’s gold handles.
The Result
The finished room feels warm, clean and elegant. The soft blue-grey cabinetry sits neatly against the warm wall colour, while the gold handles give the built-in cupboards a smart final detail. What began as bare storage now feels fully integrated into the room.
