Laminate Flooring Installation – Blackhall, Edinburgh

Following a successful interior redecoration, our client in Blackhall invited us back to install new flooring throughout their ground floor property. They chose a rich, dark walnut laminate—selected for its warmth, durability, and classic finish.

The Challenge
The original carpet had worn out and needed full removal. As with any flooring job, flawless prep was key to achieving a long-lasting, high-quality result.

Our Process

Step 1: Careful Preparation

• Carpet Removal: We stripped out all old carpet and underlay

• Subfloor Check: The existing floorboards were mostly solid—a good base

• Levelling: Minor undulations were resolved with plywood sheeting, and we secured any loose boards

• Moisture Protection: Being a ground floor property, we laid a moisture-proof membrane underlay to protect the laminate over time

Step 2: Precision Installation

• Click-Lock System: The laminate was laid plank by plank for perfect alignment

• Detailing: We cut precisely around door frames and features to maintain a clean look

• Finishing Touches: We installed quadrant beading to cover expansion gaps, then painted it to match the skirting boards for a seamless result

The Result
