Interior Painting, Wall Repairs and Feature Wallpapering in Dalkeith

The Challenge

The two rooms had tired finishes and required more than a straightforward repaint. Removing shelves left fixing holes, damaged plaster and uneven surfaces. The office also needed replacement skirting, while the dressing room needed a feature wall and carefully finished woodwork that would preserve the property’s traditional doors, cornices, window surrounds and shutters.

Our Approach

1. Removed the unwanted shelving and prepared the affected wall surfaces in both rooms.
2. Raked out, filled and sanded cracks and holes, then prepared the walls for a consistent painted finish.
3. Fitted traditional ogee-profile skirting in the office and prepared the doors, frames, window surrounds, shutters and radiator.
4. Painted the office in Farrow & Ball London Clay with lighter eggshell woodwork, and the dressing room in School House White.
5. Hung the client’s safari-themed feature wallpaper with the pattern carefully aligned around the room’s traditional details.

The Result

The office now has rich London Clay walls against light woodwork, renewed skirting and crisp period details. The dressing room has a calmer School House White backdrop around the detailed safari wallpaper. Each room feels distinct while keeping the character of the townhouse.
