Hallway Panelling & Wallpaper Mural Transformation in Edinburgh West End
Bespoke shaker-style panelling, mural wallpaper and coordinated decorating for a West End home in Edinburgh.
The Challenge
Working in a period West End home required careful attention to proportion, alignment and finish. The hallway had high ceilings and long wall runs, while the large mural wallpaper needed accurate positioning around newly installed panelling and existing architectural details.
Our Approach
- All surfaces were cleaned, prepared, filled and sanded before decorating work began.
- Bespoke shaker-style wall panelling was installed with dado rail detail, alongside custom radiator shelving and decorative elements.
- Woodwork was carefully primed and prepared before eggshell finishes were applied.
- The large mural wallpaper feature wall was hung with close attention to alignment and clean edges.
- Additional wallpapering was completed in the bathroom, including Graham & Brown Yasuni wallpaper, with Dulux Durable Matt in Denim Drift used as part of the coordinated colour scheme.
The Result
The hallway changed from a functional entrance into a statement feature of the home. The soft blue panelling adds structure and elegance, while the mural wallpaper creates a strong focal point and brings colour, texture and character into the space.
