Hallway Panelling & Painting Project in Roslin

The Challenge

This Roslin hallway and stairwell needed careful planning so the dado rail, torus mouldings and panel layout aligned with the staircase and adjoining features. The dark Lamp Black finish also meant preparation and join lines had to be especially neat.

Our Approach

1. Finalised the panel proportions on site so the layout worked around the hallway and stairwell.
2. Installed decorative dado rail, torus mouldings and bespoke wall panelling.
3. Sanded and prepared the new timber, then filled and caulked joints and fixing points.
4. Applied adhesion primer to bare timber and prepared the wall areas below the dado rail.
5. Painted the completed panelling system in Little Greene Intelligent Satin, Lamp Black.

The Result

The finished hallway has far more depth and architectural character. The bespoke panelling gives the entrance structure, while the Lamp Black satin finish creates a crisp, confident look that works with the staircase and existing interior details.
