Flat Renovation and Redecoration in Granton, Edinburgh
Wallpaper stripping, wall repairs, lining and fresh decoration across a Granton flat, finished with a calm Farrow & Ball-inspired colour scheme.
The Challenge
This Granton flat needed more than a quick coat of paint. Old wallcoverings, previous repairs, uneven surfaces, cracks and damaged areas all had to be dealt with before the new finishes could be applied across the bedroom, living room and hallway.
Our Approach
- Stripped existing wallcoverings in the bedroom and hallway so the underlying surfaces could be properly assessed.
- Raked out, filled and sanded cracks, holes and damaged areas before lining the prepared walls with Wallrock fibre liner.
- Secured loose seams in the living room wallcovering, then filled and sanded minor cracks and holes.
- Finished ceilings in white matt emulsion and used a soft pale grey across the main walls for continuity.
- Prepared doors, frames, cupboard doors and skirting, then primed and finished the woodwork in white gloss.
The Result
The finished flat feels lighter, cleaner and more welcoming. Pale neutral walls keep the rooms bright, while the blue-green and green feature walls add character without overpowering the compact spaces. Fresh white ceilings, doors, frames and skirting bring the rooms together with a crisp, consistent finish.
