Bespoke Hand-Painted Poppy Mural in West Edinburgh
A bespoke hand-painted poppy mural for a West Edinburgh bedroom, designed around the family's existing artwork and everyday use of the room.
The Challenge
The bedroom walls beside the bed were regularly being marked as the children used the space. The client wanted a practical visual solution that would work around the room’s corner and sit naturally alongside their existing colourful artwork and furniture.
Our Approach
- Discussed the room, the existing artwork and how the wall was being used.
- Developed a mural concept and agreed the colour palette before painting began.
- Planned the layout around the furniture, wall space and the artwork already in place.
- Painted a vibrant turquoise base across the feature area.
- Built the poppies, stems and foliage by hand, then added the red and black detail freehand.
The Result
The completed mural gives the bedroom a strong focal point while keeping the client’s own artwork as part of the room. The turquoise background and layered poppies turn a frequently marked wall into a lively, detailed part of the space.
