Project Showcase: Bespoke Media Unit Transformation

We are thrilled to showcase a recent project that involved the transformation of a bare MDF newly built media unit into a stunning piece of furniture. This project exemplifies our expertise in bespoke furniture finishing and our commitment to delivering high-quality results.

Project Overview

The project involved the customization and spray painting of a media unit by our specialist to achieve a pristine white finish. The furniture was tailor-made by Andrew Hay, a skilled joiner-cabinet maker known for his high standard craftsmanship. Andrew entrusted us with spray painting the media unit using a white water-based enamel tough finish paint, specifically designed for furniture.

Unique Challenges and Solutions

One of the unique challenges of this project was the location of the media unit within a large kitchen-dining-living room. To ensure precision and minimal disruption, the area surrounding the media unit was enclosed with a plastic curtain. Additionally, the floor was meticulously covered with self-adhesive plastic film to maintain its immaculate condition during the painting process. The walls were painted only after the cabinet was completed, ensuring a seamless and flawless outcome.

Process and Execution

The meticulous process began with filling all the screw and nail holes and addressing any imperfections on the furniture. Subsequently, the surfaces were sanded smooth and primed using a precise spray application. The final step involved the application of two top coats of the specially formulated white enamel paint, resulting in a flawless, bespoke media unit.
